If you're burning the same amount of calories, it doesn't matter which one you use. You can walk for 30 minutes and burn 300 calories, but I can do the same thing on the elliptical in 12-15. So it all comes down to how much time you want to spend and how hard you want to push yourself.
At the end of the day, its calories in/calories out. There's no magic machine that targets belly fat.
