Calorie Dense Carbs

I've been eating a ton of brown rice, whole wheat pasta, oatmeal, and wheat bread but it seems like I cant get in enough calories.

I'm shooting for 400 grams of protein, 600 grams of carbs, and 100 grams of fat, and it seems like I always fall short on the carb end.

Do you guys have any foods or secrets that can allow me to take in more carbs while eating less in volume??? (ie. 1 cup of dry instant brown rice = 66 grams of carbs, 1 1/3 dry whole wheat pasta = 75 grams of carbs.... while great carb sources, its a whole hell of a lot to eat and I can only manage 3 meals a day with those carb sources)

any help would be much appreciated

well normaly I wouldn´t recommend this but since you have a hard time reaching your amount. how about a little honey on the oatmeal. little bi of sugar in your coffee maybe a sportsdrinks. there's slow carbs I haven´t tried it though... it adds upp surprisingly quick.

thanks for the advice guys... i like the bagel idea and the simple sugars make sense too, ill just have to make sure I monitor when I take in the simple sugars

Rice and pasta actually dont contain a lot og carbs pr 100 g when it is cooked, simple beacuse it absorbs a lot of water.

Its food with high water retention, maybe you should switch to pasta propionate which holds less water:splat:

I would eat alot of fruit if I was shooting for a high carb diet.

It's a far better option then trying to jam sugar down your throat. Fruit is going to give you lots of nutrients on top of the cals.

Throw banana, oats, yogaurt in your pro shake kinda turns into a desert mor than a drink but helps get thoes cals up.

Wholemeal bagels are good. Have them with cottage cheese and salad. They have around 42g of carbs each so have 2 and thats nearly 90g of carbs.
