Can Deca Affect A Psa Test ?

no definite paper in the literature to say it does or doesn't-
so lets look at how the prostate grows:

Testosterone acts at the androgen receptor in the prostate and induces among other things cellular proliferation which results in your prostate growing. When testosterone is acted on by 5-alpha reductse dihydrotestosterone is prodcuced which has an even greater affinity for the androgen receptor and can induce even greater cellular proliferation. This is why 5-alpha reducatse inhibitors are good for preventing prostate growth and hair loss when using testosterone.
Nandrolone on the other hand is converted to Nor-DHT by 5 alpha reductase and its affinity for the androgen receptor is reduced and hence should have less of a tendency to cause prostate growth and hair loss.

5 Alpha-reductase is only present in certain tissues e.g. hair follicles and prostate tissue so this action of 5-alpha doesn't prevent the anabolic effect of Nandrolone on muscle.

So from the bits of the literature that look at metabolism of nandrolone- it should cause less prostate growth and hence is less likely to artificially raise blood PSA levels.

Bottom line from a urological perspective is that if you have prostate symptoms or a raised PSA you need to see a urologist for a full diagnostic work-up. IF caught early prostate cancer is curable.
