I talked to my doc over the phone today about my latest labs. He just got them in, and I will not be seeing him for about a month so I do not have them in hand. He told me that my free test is above the highest level for the lab. I have not been feeling all that great since I have been on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and am wondering if this might be the problem. Is having a real high free test level bad?

No, not in itself. I can just cause your libido to be insanely high.
What you have to worry about though with high Free Test is that your Estradiol (E2) might be elevated at the same time. Can you list off your labs results for us. I understand you don't have a paper copy, but hopefully he gave you the results. If not, call your doctor's office and have them read the results (with reference ranges) to you or email them to you or mail them too you. Don't wait a whole month to get a copy of your results. Shit -- go down there and pick them up in person if you have to.
Thanks for the reply Mega. Before I started this thread I called my drs office to go down there and get a copy of my results. There was a message that says he is at a conference, so I am not sure when I will be able to get my labs. I do remember he said my estradiol was 20 and my tt was 849 if that is any help.

849 TT is good. 20 for E2 is on the low side but probably fine if you don't have any symptoms of low E2. Are you taking an AI?

Might not be a bad idea. Your E2 is on the low side. That's a lot of adex for the dose of Test you are taking. Especially if you a getting any fatigue, joint pain or erectile difficulties.

Kinda surprised you need an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) at all at that dose. Is that 849 at your trough? Pretty nice number on 100mg. Good luck to you!

Might want to try 50mg every 2.5 days to see if you can get off the AI.

Yes. If your free t is too high it can cause unwanted side effects or ill feeling.

I got my labs, and they are pretty messed up.
Estradiol <20 <20-47 pg/mL
SHBG 9.37 11-80 nmol/L flagged low
Total Test 849 300-1080 ng/dL
Free Test 297.8 47-244 pg/mL flagged high
Test % Free 3.5 1.6-2.9 % flagged high
I feel like crap and do not know where to go from here. I have gone down from .5 to .25 mg of arimidex and might go down to none. I think that I will start taking two injections a week, instead of every 5 days, and/or go down in dosage. Is having such a low SHBG a sign of something that might be seriously wrong with me? How long had you been on the lower Aromatase inhibitor (AI) dose before getting these labs?

You have to give it time. Wait three weeks and get new labs.
I am thinking that my feeling like crap has more to do with my high free test. I originally went on an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) not because of labs, but I was feeling like crap. So the whole time I have been on Aromatase inhibitor (AI) I have never felt any different then when I was not on it.
