Cardio?

I am a personal trainer, and have alot of time in between sessions and am at the gym anyways, so would doing 3 to 4 short cardio sessions be better than 1 or 2 longer sessions? My goal is to reduce my body fat%. Does anyone have any factual supported input on this?
 
nothing factual but ive read that after 40 mins of cardio your body stops burning fat, i think your better off with 3-4 short sessions of 25-35 mins per week.
 
I figured it would be better for conserving muscle and burning fat. Hopefully I don't here otherwise.
