To cheese or not to cheese!!!!

I have heard that cheese is bad for bodybuliding as for it gives you a thicker look and turns to fat right under the skin, so I have been staying away from it till someone else said that's not true... So what do you think????? :confused:

errr... most people don't eat cheese unless they're doing keto or a similar high fat diet - i'd say most stay away from it because of the saturated fat.
 
as sparkly mentioned, the saturated fats is what steers most away from cheese. it is pretty high in sodium for small serving sizes as well.
 
It really depends on your goals. If you're dieting for a competition or something, then cheese is certainly out.
A little cheese once in a while won't hurt you though.
I always include cottage cheese in my diet, unless I'm dieting down for something. But the brick cheese is just a treat once in while.
It is very high in saturates and as Jen said, the sodium can be quite high.:)
 
Very cool, I had no ideal about the sodium well I knew there was some reason and sodium is good enough to stay away from it!!!!

When I am bulking I eat cheese pretty regularly. Usually a slice per day. I read that Lou Ferigno used to eat cheese sandwiches every day for bulking.
 
There's nothing wrong with saturated fat, to an extent, especially when the person consuming it is very active. Adequate saturated fat intake has been shown to play a role in maintaining optimal androgen levels as well as the amounts that are free versus bound.

The sodium can become an issue when dieting especially when not taking in enough water.
 
well that sucks,,, i sprinkle cheese on my eggs in the morning, and when i have baked potato i sprinkle it on top of that. I mean it's not a WHOLE lot so it can't be THAT bad can it?
 
i don't eat cheese often, once in a while maybe? Fats too high for me, but then again I eat cottage cheese? Hmm, i guess i do eat cheese
 
cheese is a great source of protein. I love it. I add it to all of my low carb salads and omlets.
 
hell i eat cheese by the godloads....lol i can't tell u how much i eat in a week definitely a couple lbs....i put it on everything and will just eat it by it's self....but than again i'm another low carb guy....later...
 
I also eat lots of cheese, as part of a lower carb lifestyle.
