My ex gf wants to use this stuff. This is apparently a popular weight loss drug. But shes looking more for the affect (at least as it claims) of preventing "carb cravings" . I would like some feedback on that effect of this apparent weight loss drug. What better alternatives are there to prevent the carb cravings?

The studies I have read are inconclusive at best, regarding both the claims and some of the negatives of this compound.

ummmmmm its not a drug, its a mineral.

and it doesnt curb carb cravings, but it does help with insulin resistance.

if looking for something to curb cravings and shed the pounds... there is always the old trusty three letters... ECA

It's one of the biggest sellers in the supplement world. It works well. It's not magic. The card carvings are better combated by supplementing the B vitamins.

Thanks, Dtone I wasn't sure if I was posting it in the right section.

DPR, I appreciate your feedback I am often skeptical of these OTC diet supplements. I let her know about Vit B, any other suggestions?

The doctor told her her metabolism is slow. It is in the normal range so they won't diagnose her with hypothyroidism but its still on the low end. Her diet is very good in fact shes very knowledgeable on foods shes going to school to be a nutritionist. She's also an athlete so I don't know what else to suggest to her shes fairly lean but she wants to be leaner and she has to push her body so much to maintain it (to the point where she has a pinched nerve in her arm, tendinitis and a herniated disc).

A supplement like Dicana would be ideal for appetite suppression, but again EXCERCISE helps big time since it decreases the size of fat cells.
