Computer Security, A Must Read

Actually he's incorrect on a few things. Namely the fact that Ziplip isn't secure when sending to other addy's. It is as long as you choose "secure". It will redirect the person to the Ziplip site even if it's within the users own e-mail message.

Basically, if I send a Ziplip secure message to you at hotmail when you open it it will redirect you through the Ziplip site so it's not actually opening from hotmail but rather directly from Ziplip.

That is true. Ziplip doesn't access the public PGP key to encrypt the email before it leaves unless you select the secure send method. It still doesn't access the PGP key and uses it's own type of encryption. I used ziplip for a coulpe years and don't knwo why it took me so long to switch to hushmail. I think it is a lot better and much more secure. I'm in the process of seting up the SSH thing, kind of a pain in the ass, too many files to choose from in the download screen.

There's even trickier ways of protecting yourself but it all depends on what extent you want to go. I swear I could market a "package deal" for sources and the like to show them how to be secure.

I'm interested if you feel like sharing. All I need is some names of things to do research on and I can do the rest. What programs or services should I look into?

Great. It is something that I always wanted to check into but it is confusing as hell. I was an MIS major too! Thanks for any help you can send my way!
