Considering a new TRT doctor

I'm thinking of switching my testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) doc. I orginally went to go see a doc I heard was good with low test and he put me on Test C at a dosage of 200 mgs every 10 days.I took it and felt great but I gained some weight on it and my face got all puffy. That doc insisted I stay on the 200 mgs every 10 days.I decided to try an endo and took me off th test C and he put me on Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) 2,000 IUs twice a week.Well I don't see much of a difference on the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) except it makes me break out with pimples. Does anyone know a good testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) doc in Houston TX?

When you find a new Doc, what are you expecting them to do for you?
You have been on Test and HCG.

I'm thinking I'm on the wrong dosage or frequency of shots.I want to find someone who can get me on the right treatment plan

Why do you think you are on the wrong dosage, because you were gaining weight and your face was puffy?

yeah I felt like I was on a cycle since I seemed to be holding alot of water. The soct told me I would lose weight I actually gained fat

The Test might have caused a spike in your E2 levels, this could add to the water and puffy look.

Did they check your E2 levels?

I'm gonna get a copy of my blood work that I just had done again on monday.I'll post the results so you can take a look and tell me what you think.

I will have a look at your results when you post them.

TRT is not a one size fits all, it takes some time to get everything adjusted.

Well I picked up my blood work today and my doc had did a regular blood work up and had only included my total testosterone which is 102 L reference range is 241 - 827 ng/dL . I might need to get a more complete workup done.

Ok I got a more through test done. Here are my levels
Total test - 164
Tsh 1.02
T3 186
T4 9.4
T3 uptake 34
Fti calculation 3.2
Prolactin 5
LH .9

Still no e2, DHEA, DHT, IGF-1, SHBG, Free TEST, etc......You need to really be sure to get all of the proper bloodwork done to get a good understanding of what is going on with your hormones.

You also need to do a little more reading to find out how hormoes work in your body, also is good to watch your diet, sodium intake, etc, an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) can help with the bloat for instance....
TRT/HRT require a little bit of sense and logic from the patient side, Doctor is not a magician just a facilitator. And like RA64 said, Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is not one size fits all, perhaps you need to try BHRT, which is more tailored to each individual hormones needs.
