Cutting cycle and protein bars?

Hey guys i've been on a strict diet for the last month and was wondering if a protein bar 2 hours after lunch is a good meal replacement before I hit the gym. I usually eat lunch around 1pm and have the bar at 4pm and hit the gym at around 6pm. I am currently trying the Odyssey protein bars, are these things breaking my diet or are they somewhat beneficial?

There are certainly better choices, but there are also worse choices. The protein is a plus but the fat and the nutritionally void calories are negatives. if you feel like they are not hindering your performance or your waistline and you enjoy them...then stick with them. but there are much better options pre work out, particularly for cutting.

I think actual food is always the best. BUT, I also eat a bar every single day. It is just so convienient. Not to mention, delicious. The only way to know for sure how it is affecting your diet is to lay off of them for a while and see if there is a difference. You still need to be sure what ever you use is healthy, nutritious body fuel. :)
