db press or military press

the problem isnt whats more effective theyre both very good..the problem youll run into is with the dbells your jumping the weight 10 lbs each week unless you can get a hold of those magnetic plates to reduce the increments..the other problem youll run into is they are a pain in the ass to get inot positon for 5 sets i got up to 105's but it was more of a hassle so switched over to BB front presses..now i can adjust my weight by a smaller increment and dont have to worry about flipping up huge dbells..just my .02
 
It's really an individual thing. I find BB presses hit my side delts harder.

like bb said, I used db's for the 5x5 for shoulders and platued too quickly because of the 10lb jumps.
 
honestly after having my shoulder reconstructed i do not any military or dumbells for shoulders i stick with hammer strength
