Deadlifts, shrugs at the top ?

I have seen people in the top of the movement do one or two shrug moves. Is this ok ? Maybe Im missing out ?

You can do em if you want. When you do deadlifts, you should sort of be shrugging, but not exactly. Just kind of putting the shoulders in proper alignment i guess you'd say, keeping them straightened.
You don't have to shrug if you dont want, but i mean, i've seen guys doing arm curls, then while their resting with the weights in their hands the do a few shrugs. It's sort of a do it if you wanna do it thing. But if you want big traps, DO IT!!!

Keep in mind i JUST woke up and am still half asleep, i hope this made sense.

Deads hit the traps really hard anyway but I have done shrugs while doing deads before (but not often).

On my last rep at the top I sometimes do a few shrugs.

Often I will follow up my deadlifts with a few sets of shrugs anyway so I dont really need to incorporate them into the deadlift movement.

My traps burn like hell when I do deads. I just wondered Because I saw a guy doing this. I just want some freaky big ass traps. I think I my rep some out on my last set of deads. Or follow deads with behind the back trap shrugs with the bar. I do deads every wed, what else do you do to follow up your deads ? Thanks guys...

After deads I like to do shrugs, pullthroughs, hypers and sometimes rows (either T-bar or barbell).

Now and then I do good mornings to, but usually i save those for leg day.

I also do my deads on Wednesdays, and I follow in this order usually with shrugs, 2 sets of pull-ups + 1 set of lat-pulldown to failure, and then t-bar rows.

Are you using deads to work your lower back or hams? In another post you mentioned that deads is all you do for hams. just wondering.

Oh deads I do are for back. Ever since I started to do them I love them. It may be my favorite. Look in member picks at a guy named Ingram he loves them to. Looking at him I now do them alot heavy ones though. It rocks my traps also....

I do not do a "shrug" at the top, rather i squeeze my shoulder blades together and hold for a second at the top of the movement.
