when doing a exercise is it better to throw the weight up as fast as you can with proper form or slowly lower and raise the weight?? thx

probably get more hypertrophy from doing it slowly.

personally i'm more interested in strength and power, so hammering that weight up as fast as possible is how I like to do it

I like doing that as well. For bench, I like to bring the weight down slowly and shoot it up as fast/explosive as I can.

Recently I started cycling my weights. I'll do heavy and low reps for about 3 weeks and then switch it up for 2 weeks to lighter weight/ more reps then back to heavy.

When I'm going heavy, I like to push the weight up fast (under control) and when I'm in the lighter phase I like to do really slow reps and really feel it. That way I get a little bit of both.
