I didn't know what to title the thread, but who else out there is going the extra mile with food prep? I know it takes time but sometimes it saves a little money.

I currently brew up my own yogurt. I can get a half-gallon of super thick greek yogurt out of a gallon of milk so it's cost effective and and doesn't take much effort. Have also been grinding up my own nut-butters and roasting my own coffee. Everything tastes better when you do it yourself. I'll tell you what, a mix of cashew (1/3) and almond (2/3) makes a tasty butter.

I live in a town with good access to farmers and fresh milk/eggs. The cost of good milk for me is pretty low compared to what it would cost to buy that volume of yogurt. Also, I can throw in a single vanilla bean and it makes it super tasty. Best of all, no added sugar. Stuff doesn't need it anyway.
