Do you believe crap in = crap out? . . .

I was wondering how true this is. Is it better to eat all healthy food while bulking, or would it be better to eat everything good food and crap included, for more calories?

"Good" calories are always better than junk food my man!!! Whether you are cutting, bulking, or maintaining!

If you are looking to add calories and you having a difficult time finding calorie-dense "healthy" food.....you could always add 1 tablespoon of Flaxx to every meal.

Assuming you are eating 6 meals/day (bulking), this will add approximately 1,000 calories (healthy-as-hell calories).

;)

Im a firm beliver in "healthy" bulking. I feel like hammer dog shit if i eat crappy all the time. Just throw in some extra Flax, or my favorite natural peanut butter, to up your cals. If you eat 4k + clean cals, i guarantee you wont be hungry. If for some reason you still crave junk food, throw in a few cheat meals. You are what you eat, bulk on donuts and french fries, can you really expect to look good when your done?

^^ what they said :)

I think some of the younger lucky guys can add the calories by saying "and SuperSize it" :) That isn't much of an option for me.

Crap in - Crap Out = Some Crap still in there...

Me too....I eat clean all the time....well, except I have 1 cheat day a week, but even with that I don't go overboard.

I try to eat as much natural and organic as possible; yeah, I know that's not always possible, and can be too restrictive, but if I shoot for that then I'm going to do better in the long run, even if I sometimes fall short.
Minimal junk food! That stuff is loaded w/ trans fatty acids and refined carbs; in my mind, this is a much worse combo than saturated fats, for the most part.
This has become more and more important to me with age, recognizing that vascular disease and Type II diabetes are long term disease states w/ a protracted latency period. In other words, it's happening now, bro!
RoadHouse and DrVJ have it right. The calorie dense stuff is easy with good fats.

i usually have about 1 fast food meal a day for extra cals

but the other 5 meals are clean.. i add a banana (100cals) flax (about 160cal/tbsp and peanut butter for extra calories in my meals. and before bed i have a low calorie, high protein shake with flax

The problem with eating garbage food is that most guys can shove away waaay too much w/out realizing how many cals they eat. This isn't too much of a problem for guys who don't have the "I have to eat 10,000 calories/day to grow even if I look like a whale when I'm done" mentality.

As far as food choices, personally, I will never give up my Fruity Pebbles..
