the study I'm thinking of tested hypothyroid and normal patients. Those that supplemented with T3 and were hypo increased synthesis. Those that supplemented and were normal had a greater increase in proteolysis than synthesis for a net negative effect.

Yeah, if that's the case then they do indeed have a similar behavior when out of homeostasis. Just like that damn estradiol! Man, the human body is one strange machine. Definitely not designed to be modified too heavily chemically, or it breaks down. Like a tampering mechanism of sorts!

Doing anything fun for your birthday? The wife and I don't really even celebrate ours anymore outside maybe going out to eat.


So, my daughter is watching VeggieTales - and I just realized it's a thinly veiled attempt by religious zealots to convert our young to Christianity before they realize what the heck is going on. Definitely going to have a talk with my Mom about her sneaking in the religious stuff without talking to me first. :mad:

It's not that I have anything against organized religion per se, I just don't like how manipulative it is. I'm trying to raise my daughter to be able to choose for herself if she wants to have a religious faith or not. I didn't have that option and really resented that fact as it can limit your viewpoint on life.

The human body, and life in general, is extremely complex I agree. It will take a very long time or some very serious computing power to figure out all it's secrets.
 
I'm pretty sure I'm like twice his age and I just don't want to think about. Half, you passed you last big landmark last year, now all you have to look forward to is reading glasses in another couple of years.

Probably not. I haven't done anything "fun" since my 18th or 19th. One of those years I went to a stripclub and had a foursome... not simultaneously lol. Even my 21st I just went out with a couple co-workers and my dad, got in a fight with the chick I was trying to work things out with and that was it. I've been wanting to go to Vegas, but none of my friends have money and the ones that do are either married, have GFs, or have the money but don't have the money to spend hahaha. I'll probably go bar hoppin or something. Get out of the house at least.

Dude that show is 100% a christian cartoon. I went to a christian school K - freshman year, and we watched that shit all the way up to 8th grade.
I know exactly where you're coming from on that. I was forced into it as a kid. Mom was catholic, dad was morman, and I went to a christian school that said catholics were piece of shit sinners that were only sorry on sunday and mormans were a cult.
