Kinda sort of.
She works with mentally challenged kids and has just become a special needs educator.
She doesn't work for a traditional school but one that deals with these kinds of cases exclusively.

She was a nervous wreak when they popped the question but I think this will be good for her.

One of my cousins does special needs kids too. It's a tough job and very demanding and she has to be able to empathize with the kids but dissociate herself at the same time. She can make herself crazy if she does too much.

This new job is a very significant upgrade from where she used to be working.
She has been in the social work field for a while now, her last place of employment dealt with dangerous, dysfunctional and generally low functioning kids.

Kids too bad to stay in public schools but not old enough to go to prison.
She worked with pre-teen rapists, arsonists and people that have been sexually abused as children.
Kids who's parents just gave-the-fuck-up and basically left them for dead.
Some really fucked up stuff. Because that situation pretty much was a prison, the kids thought of it the same way.
They spent their free time thinking of ways to fuck up staff members.

I've spent too many nights with her in the ER because some little shit kicked her in the face or something similar.

This new place still has some aggressive kids but nothing like the last few.
The whole system in her new school just seem to have a much better structure for actually making these kids functioning members of society.

why doesn't she try getting into a hospital? if she likes working with children, i'm sure she could get into a children's hospital?

Oh I know. Every night the stories she was telling me left me wanting to smash some kids face in.
To have to listen to her say how she wishes I was there to be her bodyguard and not be able to do anything is heartbreaking.

Ha, it's funny, she's terrified of needles and the like.
She has been forcing herself to watch me pin but still turns away when I withdraw.
The place she's working for now actually is affiliated with a childrens hospital. She's lucky to be there because of how well structured everything is. If you want to advance, the groundwork is laid out all you need to do is make the steps.
She just has no interest in doing the medical side of things.

Maybe try getting into a school board. Most schools have special needs, and they need a teacher to attend to them. Usually high schools are good for that because they need several on board...

I e been there with my cousin bro. Many hospital trips bc of the kids. She's gotten a concussion, stitches, cuts, bruises, scrapes etc. like you I found myself wanting to kick these kids' asses but they're just kids. She started taking her weightlifting seriously though and got a lot stronger (by lifting heavy like me you and Cap lo), took some martial arts and kickboxing classes so now when the kids try fucking with her, she reverses it into them without hurtin them lol. The kids have learned to not fuck with her bc she can fight back In a way now lol. Just make sure she's always conscious if her surroundings and get her into a good lifting program and/or self defense just to keep herself protected.
