Do you think one of them is using gear pt. 2

Schrodinger, is that you?

That stuff sends chills up my spine.

The Supermassive Vacuum Cleaner At the Edge of the Known Universe

Black holes are what hold everything together I think. The amount of gravity around them has to account for something. They could be portals too... I've seen some theoretical studies proving time travel is possible using the gravitational pull around them. I wish it were feasible for someone to travel through one in my lifetime.

A multi-verse sort of theory.

What happens when the entire universe collapses into a quantum singularity?
Is it even possible to collapse that much matter into nothing?
What would happen if you over-load a black hole?
Can they be over-loaded?

What about dark matter, does it behave the same way as regular matter in the presence of a black hole?

Where is Neal Degrasse Tyson when you need him?

Baby steps.

I really, really hope for this world that we don't figure out a way to:
Resurrect
Cure cancer
Cure AIDS

Watch the fireworks!

They can resuscitate people, so it will be possible. My dad was pronounced dead and resuscitated when he was like 18 - 19.
Cancer will be curable for sure in our lifetime. They're getting close. It may not be a preventative "cure" but they're be able to remove and combat it with nano technology, they already can to an extent.
We're on the cusp of AIDS / HIV cure. There's all kinds of info on it. AIDS Cure: New Science Suggests Breakthrough Ways of Eradicating HIV - SPIEGEL ONLINE

Oh I know were close and I dread the day that treatment becomes mainstream.

This planet cannot support the population it has now even with the rate at which cancer/AIDS and the like is killing us. If suddenly there were even 10% more people on this planet and people in general were just living longer, can you imagine what that would do to our FOOD supply?

What's the point of curing cancer if starvation/malnutrition becomes the worlds biggest killer.

I believe in the possibility of a multi-verse.

It has to be possible for it to collapse. If it came from "nothing" it can return to "nothing". At the same time, new universes could be created all the time. Maybe we were just waste shot through a black hole at the end of another universe? Maybe that's how universes are created. All the shit shoots out the other end, and when the right elements colide, BOOM you have a universe lol.
I don't think they can be "overloaded" as they are the densest "thing" in the universe. Nothing else has that kind of mass to over power one. A super massive black hole would suck up a super nova, and become... A SUPER MEGA MASSIVE ULTRA BLACK TRENCH!!

Good question. I don't think we can measure dark matter yet so it's characteristics can't be studied. If I'm not mistaken, black holes actually contain dark matter? Which doesn't make sense, because in theory dark matter would eat a black hole... but maybe not since black holes contain dark matter?

I love that guy. By far my favorite scientist. The way he explains things is just astounding. It's so hard to put that level of scientific knowledge and theory into terms you and I can understand. I wish I could find a John Malkovich portal to his mind.

On the episode of MU I was just listening to they opened with life preservation. I forget his name, but the guy who wants everyone to have the micro chip that now works at Google is working on life preservation. They were basically saying it's going to come down to the rich elites having their own society of immortals. I'd hate to live forever. We can already 3D print working organs though, so it's just a matter of time.

People are already living longer. Back in the 50's life expectancy was like 60 or something. It's not uncommon for people to see 100 years old now. I think there's forms of population control in the works we don't know about yet. The rich will live forever, the poor will be killed off.
