Doctor is recommending TRT

Why hasn't he tried Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) or Clomid yet?
If he is recommending TRT...he's a good doc
You can take Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) while on TRT...it is claimed that it will maintain fertility....as far as guarantees....I'm not sure. I'll let someone else answer.

I am currently on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) (140mg Test C eow) and my urologist also prescribes me Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) (500IU 3 x a week). I had some tests run and I am still exceptionally fertile, which is good news for me, given that my wife and I want to have another kid in the near future.

just letting you know what's going on, he's been giving me 100mg/wk but we haven't had any labs done yet. My next appointment is Tuesday and we'll schedule for labs on that next friday I believe. I've gotten 3 injections so far and the only thing I really notice that has changed is my erections have been better. mindset is still pretty much the same and the appointment following the labs is when we'll decide if it's something I want to continue to do. If curing my ED is the only thing TRT is going to help I'd rather not do it but maybe 100mg/wk isn't enough? While it seems I may feel a "little" better I still get irritated over stupid things so I'm still moody unfortunately. While at my last appointment I mentioned an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) and he asked what I meant, me not knowing what it was I just said "never mind". I've since done more research and will explain what I meant, maybe he doesn't know it by the acronym I read here is all (let's hope if this is the man in charge of my hormones!).

You have to give it time to work. You don't feel the effect of injections overnight. It might be 6-8 weeks before you feel the effects.

You would be better served injecting every 3.5 days. Once a week is too infrequent and can cause estradiol problems. And a roller coaster effect with your TT.

that's something I've picked up from other threads and plan on doing once I self inject. He wants me to go in for the first month and have them do the injections (with a $35 copay I'd rather not go every 3.5 days!), I think next week he'll show me how to do them and once he does I plan to cut the dose in half and do every 3.5 days (I assume he'll have no problem with that when I suggest it). So what I'm gathering is it still takes time and I have low enough levels that I should stick to it? I hate being moody :redhot: all the time because those around me have been suffering. It's great that I haven't needed Cialis lately but that alone isn't worth doing the injections, I'm hoping to get my mind right. It seems most (I know not all, me for example) who are on TRT are either obese or have used steroids in the past and ruined their systems and me not fitting either bill is depressing. That in itself (taking the injections) has been causing me to be depressed, something I was hoping the injections would help fix. It's funny how that works ! :) I just need to somehow get it in my head that it isn't a bad thing so I stop stressing about it. Not knowing long term effects/how it's going to be when I'm 80 etc has me worrying about it.

Don't worry about needing TRT even though you're not obese and never used steroids. I'm in the same boat as you and it's nothing to be depressed about. We are exposed to so many toxins, chemicals and hormones through the products we use and eat. It wouldn't surprise me if everyone's levels were off. The good thing is you've got a doc that started you on TRT. Hang in there bro. It takes time to get dialed in on your protocol. Be patient and give it a chance to work.

Today is the first day I really noticed anything, I went in the office feeling shitty, talked to the doc a bit etc then the girl came and gave me my shot. I went about my day and halfway through it I noticed I felt good. I definitely feel the difference between pre & post poke today. I thought nothing of it but a few hours later I just realized I felt good as I was working and that's with a bad day at work since it was the first day back after a holiday weekend which is never fun when you're a mailman. With being poked today he wants to do labs Saturday but the place I go is all booked up so I may have to go to another place that has an opening on Friday, I need to make a few more calls tomorrow in hopes I can find a place that can get me in Saturday but if not I guess my levels will just be a little higher. Say my TT is 500 on friday, about what would that be on Saturday?

my TT tested at 745, I did find a place that would test me on Saturday so my test was accurate. He wrote me a 6mo prescription today and had me self inject in my thigh. It was scary, I sat there for at least 2 minutes before I finally went for it. He told me I can split it up however I want as long as I don't go over 100mg/wk. I don't think he's having me do anymore labs for 6 months when I see him again and he seems to not be interested in checking E2, I believe all they're having me check in 6 months is TT and hematocrit.
