Hi there....

are you only supposed to take EFAs in meals with NO carps ?

i mean, my first meal of the day is : oatmeal+big whey pro.shake + 1 tablespoon xtra virgin olive oil.
should i stop taking the Oil in the morning because i get carbs too ?
my last meal of the day is big proshake+1 tablespoon of flaxseed oil.

and when you have a weekly cheatday, can you eat EVERYTHING ?
cake ? pizza ? candy ? ....or is it just all the carbs you want ?

Thx for helping a diet newbie :D

I always take my efa's with a protein source, not a carb source.
It's not going to kill you to take a tablespoon in the morning along with your meal.
What are your goals?

Now, in terms of a cheat day...hehehe...I don't do an entire cheat day but that's just me. Once again, it depends on what kind of diet you are following. I only allow myself a cheat meal if I'm dieting. But I'm not sure what your end goal is. ;)

So if I'm cutting I'll want to take a tbsp of flaxseed oil with my morning shake?

And also, this "cheat" day thing I've read about, do you go crazy all day or just for one meal.

heh,
Thanks.

im just trying to get more lean !
im not competing or anything like that, my gut just needs a little trim ! :D

i ate everything on my cheat day sunday ! and loved it :D ...i dont feel "fatter" today !! :)

my plan was :

1 tablespoon of extra olive oil along with a wheyshake and oatmeal in the morning !

...and, 1 tablespoon flaxseed oil along with my before bedtime wheyshake....

i dont eat carps. after 3 pm. but eat "normal" meals until 3 pm.

Ditto........I do it exactly the same way.

Lyle MacDonald advocates the cheat day as a physiologically sound principle. Basically it increases leptin levels letting your body know you are still fat. A caloric excess one day a week isn't going to kill you in the long run so the benefits of a cheat day tend to outweigh the drawback (which, of course, is extra cals).

As for EFAs with carbs, the insulin releas triggered by carbs will help EFA uptake.
