I eat 12 whole eggs a day. 6 in the morning, and 6 boiled at 2 meals in the afternoon. I have bloodwork done every 2 weeks and there are never any problems. There is alot of bad info on the negative qualities of egg yolks. I think it's been said that dietary cholesterol only accounts for 5% of your blood cholesterol. I feel great with 12 whole eggs in my diet. If 8 whole make you feel like crap, don't eat em.
If you are bulking definitely eat the whole egg, work out hard, and eat a balanced diet. I find it impossible to bulk when you don't enjoy the food you eat. The yolks are where all the flavor is and there is a lot of good nutritrion in the yolks. It is decadent and wasteful to throw out the yolk--there are starving children in India.
For the people who eat 8-12 eggs a day or even more:
Do you buy stock in eggs or have your own chicken or what??
But seriously...do you open your fridge and have like 10 dozen eggs cartons just taking up the whole fridge or do you go the the store every 2 days or what??
I buy the 5 dozen carton, 2 at a time. Makes it cheaper too. Each dozen runs about $0.80 But I still go to the store every 2-3 days for other things. Think I'm going to start shopping in bulk. See how that works.
We have a store near my house called the egg store and they have eggs for 50 cents a dozen right now usually they are a dollar a dozen, now that is a lot of protein for the money.
In case anyof you are worried about the cholesterol in eggs, let me just tell you my short little story.
I had cholesterol at 238 6 months ago. Ive been on a cutting diet, since then ive lost about 30 lbs from the last time I had cholesetrol checked. I just got it checked again and it has returned under 200. I ate probably 4 egg yolks MINIMUM every day (i love eggs and they are cheap quality protein).
I asked questions about egg yolks on this board here too and people assured me that they were safe, and well they were right. Going by government info, my cholesterol should probably be over 300 with all the cholesterol i ate. lol.
I ate right, lost fat, and i weightlift heavy and intensely, as well as do HIIT cardio 3 times a day.
Thanks everyone for giving me the input about egg cholesterol, you know who you are .
I don't even think consuming the cholesterol in egg yolks is translated
into blood cholesterol. Cholesterol seems to be 95% genetic, unless someone is borderline obese.
I've eaten a dozen - dozen 1/2 whole eggs per day for years, and have perfect cholesterol.
Vennom, wholesale stores sell cases of 15 dozen, fits right in the fridge.
