Well I just recently moved to Arkansas from Indiana and I finally had enough money to get another gym membership. I'm pretty lucky, down here we have 2 gold gym's within 15 minutes of me and they are building another and will be ready in winter of 05. But anyhow, I started off my normal routein with my first day being chest day. I started off with incline dumbell presses started with 50-60-70-75 I was feeling pretty weak and I knew it was because I took almost a month off! Thats right a FREAKING MONTH! After exhausting myself with 75 for only 6 I figured Id beable to do some flat bench next. So I headed over to flat bench. I loaded up the bar with 45s a side and did my normal 10 warmup for first set and damn I knew it was an off day but I made myself put up some more weight. So I was thinking id put another 35 a side but I stopped myself and put on 25 a side. Only 185.... well I slid my ass underneigth the bar and proceeded to push it up... 1....2....3..........................ahhhhhh barely got it up! I got up looked in the mirror in disbelief I thought no WAY! There was no way that I could only do 185 3 times. So I got back under the bar after a longer than normal rest.. maybe 5 minute rest... I got under it started to hype myself up in my head made sure I had it perfect.... Lifted up... 1....2...3....4..5....................................COULDNT DO 5 I didnt have a spotter.... so we all know what happens next. Yup.. thats right the bar is sitting on my chest... as I'm laughing...I'm laughing at myself because the bar fell on my chest with only 185... I had to actually slid the bar to my belly and sit up with it... it was the most embarrassing day in my life... i KNOW everyone saw me do it yet noone asked to help which was a relief. But I had to leave after that... i couldnt let anyone see me in there from letting 185 sit on my chest =(.
BTW... normal max for 2 is 275 which was a month ago. I think i just taxed my body with the dumbbells... but damn....com'on!
