Experience and Thoughts About TRT

About a year ago my energy level was down and overall well being feeling just not there - this did not feel temporary. Although I never slept great, not getting enough sleep really became an issue. And so on... All the low T symptom stuff.

I have a regular physical and all is good so I am miffed. I try a local t-doc who just gets into t-biz; he tests my blood and total T it is somewhere around 550. Explains it is in range for a 47 y/o, but in range differs from person to person. Although I thought about it, I think maybe not enough, so I go for it. BTW, next year will be my 30th year in the gym and I never cycled.

Here's where I am in the process with cyp protocol
1 FRI 07/19/13 200-paddock
2 FRI 07/26/13 300-paddock
3 FRI 08/02/13 300-paddock
4 FRI 08/09/13 300-paddock
5 FRI 08/16/13 300-paddock
6 FRI 08/23/13 300-paddock
7 FRI 08/30/13 300-paddock
8 FRI 09/06/13 300-paddock
9 FRI 09/13/13 300-paddock
10 FRI 09/20/13 300-strango(ug)
11 FRI 09/27/13 200-strango(ug)
12 FRI 10/04/13 100-strango(ug)

After week 7/8, the doc figures he's not making money in the T-biz and shuts down ops a week before follow up blood work and meeting. At that point I am just about out of cyp and so not being hard to find, I manage to finagle to keep it going until I land another t-doc (as seen in week 10 switch to ugl).

Somewhere around week 9 it all starts to kick in and I started feeling good, overall sense of well being and energized and so I think okay, this is good, but then out of nowhere, some high blood pressure and some heart palps - I admit, I panic a bit. So the following week I cut to 200 with a planned transition to 100 twice a week, which the other 100 would be tonight. The heart palps go away over the past two weeks and the bp comes down - still a little red from time to time but still feeling energized, etc. However, bp still a little higher than I would like and I now run very hot!! I am 47 and feel there is heart risk here. The new t-doc will start me with 100xweek and run adex and Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) along side and this may help with the heat and bp, but he also advised that hematocrit may now be high and I should donate blood, which I find out I have to lie to do. Wow, a this is a lot of work and certainly more than I expected, so this is where I becoming unglued as I feel I may be screwing around with something that is already working, at least to some extent.

So NOW I see it may not be so easy to stop testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) once it is started and that unnerves me a bit. So I start to doubt my judgement to start testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) in in spite of the so-far perceived benefits. I guess I started to think this is a lot of work and maintenance and I already had t of 550. I have not had a follow blood work and plan to within coming 2 weeks, although I am told it should be after I donate blood. To boot, I live in NY and it is one of 4 states I can't just go an get a $99 blood test anytime I want - NONSENSE!!

My question is if I wanted to bail at this point, what course of action should I take? And in taking that course of action, is it possible that I can get back to my own baseline of 550.

Thanks and look forward to the replies.

Stop injecting and run a post cycle therapy (pct). There are great stickies on the AAS side of the forum that explain how to run a proper post cycle therapy (pct). There is never a guarantee that they will work, but it often does. Good luck!

If I had natty T of 550 I never would have gotten on TRT. Look at the average TT levels by age in the chart below.

When I sought a testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) doc at 25 y.o. I had fluctuating Blood levels of T. After a dumb cycle I did my T.T 6 mths later was: 896 ng/dl then down to ----->663 ng/dl (2 months later) then-----> 582 ng/dl 1 month later-----last blood work I did before going in to see testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) doc I was at 507 ng/dl....
All with LH 3IU/L & FSH 1 IU/L(low)
I don't get what happened. I was working out consistently. I had undiagnosed sleep apnea at the time as well....
It's a mystery to me!!!
