fasted cardio?

i do this. ive found it to be pretty effective. i take protein mix and water, apple, and caffeine then have at it. i heard it is not good to do it this way....
what are some of your experiences?
 
Im not as well versed as some of the others but the general idea is to do your cardio in a carb depleted state. This way your body will use stored fat for energy in lieu of the carbs.

I can tell you I personally do it on an empty stomach and have seen huge improvements. I try to eat a small amount of casein protein before bed and then wake up 6-7 hours later and do my cardio. Then eat a nice well balanced (with carbs and protein) breakfast.

If you are eating all that, it is no longer fasted cardio.

true, ive done it both ways though. one way i wouldnt eat anything but drink crystal light with caffeine (like 5 cals). i would be SUPER drained after though.
i started eating a little something because i heard that doing extreme cardio on an empty stomach causes your body to breakdown muscle for energy...
then i heard that you should just do protein mix and water with caffeine.
which do you think is better?

As long as you are not doing high intensity cardio you wont break down muscle.

I only do water and a few supplements, no protein.
