Today I was looking over my diet. Lately I been feeling like crap when it comes to carbs in my diet. My gym closed a few months ago and been going through a rough time. Anyway...joining a new gym at the start of next month. Waiting for them to open. But back to my diet. When I eat carbs I noticed I get SUPER tired and sleepy and I feel tingling in my feet. I decided to eat:
Protein with fats and greens
Carbs with sour fruits
Why? Eating say a big steak requires alot of insulin, I dont want that with a bunch of sugars from carbs. Doesn't matter if its slow digesting or not its excess. To my personal blood sugar. I have to start using my glucose meter. And I am not diabetic but its in my family.
Studies show when acids improve insulin sensitivity. Such as Apple Cider Vinegar or Citric Acid.
I know fats can raise insulin too. I prefer those greens with fats incase fats are stored they are stored with vitamins.
At the end of the day as long as we hit macros thats all that matters but I noticed certain relationships with food combinations affecting digestion, and the amounts of those food and my personal genetics.
My plan is to go low carb for now and slowly increase the carbs with progressions of resistance training in the gym. More muscle needs more energy IE carbs. Of course not neglecting protein and fats.
