Flax oil in my shake

Will 1 tbsp of flax oil slow the absorbtion (sp) of my whey down considerably enough not to use flax after a workout? I usually do 1 tbsp flax oil some water and ice with 2 scoops of whey post workout. Should I leave the oil out so it will absorb (SP) faster

Yes, fat will slow the adsorption of the whey, but I'm not sure by how much. If you are really looking for quick adsorption of they whey, combine it with a 50/50 mix of dextrose and maltodextrin for an insulin spike.

Remember fast absorbtion protein(whey, eggwhites) after a workoutabout 40-60g and about 60g of simplesugar after a workout , no fat, take your flaxseed with your bedtime shake:40oz:

No fat postworkout. It's only going to work against ur goal of creating a spike and getting the protein in quick.

You don't really want super fast protein post workout, provided you take a preworkout shake. Your amino levels will be elevated and slower protein will serve to keep them that way.

Don't add your flax to your post workout shake. Your post workout shake should be a protein/dextrose shake. If you're taking in 40grams of protein post workout, then mix it with 80-100g of dextrose and water.:D You want to refuel those glycogen stores as quickly as possible and the fat will just slow it down.

60-100 seems like a lot of sugar... doesnt that convert to fat and stuff? i mean, avoiding things like soda and stuff to not have the sugar intake i can see, but then after a workout you want dextrose to replace glycogen? hmm... isnt there a sugar free way to do it?

Nabiller, glycogen replenishment is so important after you train. You want to get refuelled as quickly as possible. The ideal ratio for carbs to protein post workout is 2:1
Try it if you're not doing it already, you will notice a big difference.:)

Nabiller, from what I understand - you want to have the dextrose becasue it spikes your insulin.. the insulin spike will then shuttle all of the protein immediately into your muscle cells and the dextrose will replenish glycogen stores in the liver thus giving the body better recovery and energy for next workout...

oh yeah, and glycogen is just what carbs (sugar) is converted to until the body needs it, so no there is no sugar free way to do it!! I say just listen to the gurus and enjoy the sweet taste!! ahah

can i replace ~50g of dextrose with 10g of glucose? are they swappable? or no? i dont have a good dextrose source here (middle east, unless iwant to eat 50 equal packets after a workout... haha)
ill try the dex when i get home in 24 days!
