For those who have "cheat meals"

If you have a cheat meal, how often do you do it, and do you differ when cutting and gaining?
 
I allow myself one cheat meal a week when dieting, and I still try to make sure this meal has a lot of protein. When bulking I'll eat anything in front of me.
 
i usually have 2-5 cheat meals a wk
i try and keep it at about 3 though
Im gonna start trying to get really cut, so will prob. limit my cheat meals more and up the cardio. Diets not a prob. 4 me, its getting motivated for the cardio :P

This is about the protocol I've been sticking to the last month. It also depends on how much weight you are losing, if losing very fast (which I was the first couple weeks) increase the cheat meals and take it a little easier.
 
forreal!! dang. Well i was up to 215, but leveled off at 210 then started cutting. I tetter 191 now and its been about 8-9weeks. So i have been losing pretty fast and im about done. So should I personally take more cheat meals- instead of 1 every 10 days. But this also depends on how clean one eats.
 
You make me feel lazy! When bulking every other meal could be considered a cheat meal. All I care about is protein intake and approx. total cals. Cutting is a different story but even then I cheat a few times a week at least. Depends on metabolism mostly.

Yeah...when i gain i eat whatever i see...almost. But i wasnt as sure on cutting. But my fav when bulking is taco bells steak grilled stuffed burrito...dang i wanna be gaining again! :mad:
 
Apparently havoing one whole cheat day a week is best. According to Lyle MacDonald. Keeps leptin levels (the hormone that lets your body know you've got fat stores to spare) up there, whereas if you just basically starve yourself for weeks on end your body thinks you're starving to death and conserves every little bit of energy it can.


I had great success following this method, and hell my cheat days usually involved 10+ beers.
 
1 whole cheat day a week plus a couple cheat meals on other days. That works for me fine, you've gotta see what works for you
 
I go for my weekends depending on how I feel I go sat and sunday or just sunday. I eat the hell out of Micky D's spend like 20$ on the dollar menue. I've cut back on my cheat meals lately just don't like the taste of crapy food lately, but once I hit may its all out for 285 so I might be getting rediculous with the cheat meals. I try to stick with chicken or more low fat items when I do stuff like that though.
 
2 and three times a week huh... That seems crazy to me. I feel like you guys are yankin my d*ck all at once. But everyone is saying the same thing so...huh...thanks ill check it out.
 
Like what everyone else said, I usually go for 2-3 even when I cut which I am now. I'm losing bodyfat, that is noticeable, but that might be because of my high metabolism. When I was bulking, I have having atleast 5-8cheat meals a week. Those were the good times.
 
what about like okay for me what i was thinking of doing my mom usually cooks some healthy stuff some days and well when its healthy or whatever why not add that as an extra meal would that be okay? so if like 3 or 4 days out of the week it looks good and is healthy that wouldnt be so bad would it?

I have no idea what youre asking...but heck if you are gaining and can add in an extra meal thats healthier, go for it. How many meals are you eating to begin with?
 
I give myself 3-4 a month if I need to cheat...I try not to veer over of the path at all but if you have to you have to I guess

You gotta find out what works for you. Some get away with cheat meals everyday and some cant have any.

To take it a step further you'll need to define what a cheat meal is. For some it is a side of pasta or a baked potato and others its a bucket of KFC . . . like me.
 
What i was askin is like maybe sometimes when my mom cooks and its healty it'd be okay maybe to add an extra meal right now im not eatin all that great i gotta get my sleep back on track and such and then ill tell ya my meals and stuff that ill be eating. really what i was saying like lets say my meals consist of chicken,eggs,grits,oatmeal,veggies,shakes and lets my mother cooks something healthy i could add that in as an extra source of protein or something i guess
