Hey bros,
I've been doing some research on GH and IGF without much luck on finding out a definitive answer as to the affect of these drugs on the immune system.
I currently have Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and have experienced a better suppression of the MS while I was on cycle (my cycles usually consisted of a Test, a DHT, and a 19-nor of some sort). I'm on a new form of treatment now for the MS (Tysabri) and it is HIGHLY advised by the drug manufacturer (Biogen) that patients don't use immunosuppressants while on Tysabri. With this information, I'm hesistant to take Testosterone and therefore run any cycles as I've read that Testosterone suppresses the immune system. I also experienced first hand that the anabolics actually helped the MS when I wasn't on Tysabri.
The only information I did find on the topic of this was in an article and this is just a little paragraph that I cut and paste to show you all (if you want the actual article, I'd be glad to share that as well)...
"I know of a doctor in Mexico who is having success using growth hormone (GH) with multiple sclerosis patients. My research indicates that it may be, at least in part, because GH increases IGF-1 and IGF-1 is known to be involved in supporting the health and growth of nerve tissue. MS is a degeneration of the nervous system, so this makes a certain amount of sense, so ask whatever doctor you end up working with to consider giving you the latitude to experiment with GH, perhaps in combination with anabolic steroids, like Deca Durabolin. The GH perhaps helping repair the nerve (and muscle) damage and the steroid improving the health and re-growth of the muscles, improving immune metabolism, and perhaps decreasing the progression of the MS, as it appears to do with some other auto-immune diseases."
Since I'm unable to find more information on the effect of GH and IGF on the immune system, I was hoping that some of you may be able to shed some light on the topic for me. My question is below...
1. Do GH or IGF suppress your immune system at all?
Thanks a ton!!
