I train my wife 4 days a week and currently have her doing the same routine I do as a competitive powerlifter. She is all natural and is really hard and jacked. We're both shocked at the results so far at 10 weeks. She hasn't lost any weight but has dropped from a size 8 to a 6.The cardio bunnies look at her like she is crazy when she does parallel barbell squats and deadlifts off the floor with 225 lbs.She has a 150 lb bench press and is getting very strong for a 150 lb woman that is 42 yrs old.She has veins popping in her arms that rival some of the men I lift with.

On a side note I have noticed a big different in the uh............snugness of a certain body part.I think it is from all of the ab work she does.

i agree...to many girls just do cardio...i watch them walk in and do 15-20 min of cardio then i watch them walk right out...

i'v talked many of my female friends to start lifting weights and not just do cardio.

i have my gf working out with me 5 days a week and she still manages to get in 45min of cardio at least 4 days a week.

in just about 2mo of her training with me her strength has gone through the roof and she's defined muscles already....her tri's are nice and round along with her shoulders...she has nice hard bi's already...her quads are awesome..solid and defined, i call her quadzilla..lol

oh and btw shes getting a boob job next month to top it all off...lol..she is def dedicated and that's what it takes.

and she's actually a great workout partner...she's pretty hardcore when it comes to the gym .

That's awesome... Good for her !
I train with Mr P, & I lift pretty heavy for what I weigh (124 lbs), one thing I noticed when I started lifiting heavier, is that I didn't loose too much weight, but saw noticeable gains, pretty fast too.

Lifitng & training for women has soooo many benefits, both mentally & physically..
You Decrease Your Risk Of Osteoporosis, Arthritis, heart disease etc,

Diet and exercise are also shown to improve blood vessels and circulation, so for sure your sex life will be improved by excercise, not to mention you feel more confident of how you look, and that's always a good thing.

Like the saying says:" Excercise, The poor man's plastic surgery" ..lol

My girl has been dying to workout with me, which I don't have a problem with, its the 2 kids that makes it hard for us to go at the same time, she is 5ft4 120 pounds, she wants muscle and a six pack, ,don't we all haha,,anyway I was wondering if she could do the same routine as me, what about diet? Is the same for a girl, would it be comparable to a mans cutting diet? I am all about mass and bulk, but that's not her goal so hate to steer he wrong.

I pretty much do the same routine as my husband, ofcourse if she's starting she needs to take it slow & slowly increase weight as her strength increases..
What I do is I do 30 min cardio 3-4 times a week & lift 4 times a week.
Her routine would really depend on her fitness level.

As far as her diet if she's looking to gain muscle, she needs to eat plenty of protein, you post her stats and what she normally eats on the diet section & 3J can help her tweek her diet.

And I hear you about the kids, it's harder when you have little ones, I workout at home, I do it when the kids are in school,
If you guys go to a gym, most now days have free daycare, or if you do it at home & the kids are old enough you can have them watch a movie or some other activity while she excercises & checks up on them from time to time.

It's not easy, but it's totally doable ! You have to make time...:)

Thanks Mrs.P!! She's very athletic and actually looks awesome as is, but after the second kid she's hanging on to some love handles, but she doesn't need much work. I will start her at 3 times a week 2 muscle groups each day, keep the total sets around 9 and reps in the 10-12 range for starters?

5'4 120 lbs, she's at a good place, shouldn't be hard for her at all.
Having kids can really do a number on your body.. Tell me about it..lol
I think 3 times a week for her is a good start, 2 muscle groups a day sounds good, I usually do that except on leg day..

Have her join !

Best of luck to her :)

I love it that I lift with all the boys and the girls are all on the machines. I get dirty looks a lot. haha
