Hello all... I have a new obsession with green tea, i love the shit. Anyone think there are any problems with drinking 1.5 - 2 gallons of it a day? Sugar free of course. Instead of drinking straight water?

I dunno but ive been drinkin the Lipton Green Tea for a few months and Im hooked.....pretty cheap and on the grocery shelves.

What do you mix with it? If you are dropping a couple tsp of table sugar in each glass then you might have some issues, but drinking it straight is okay.

I used to mix 6 bags + 1.5L - 2L of water each morning and drink it throughout the day.

I add a little splenda to sweeten it up a little... Or if im in a rush i use the lipton powder that is also sweetened with splenda. Just wasnt sure if it was ok to have THAT much through out the day.

does it contain caffiene?

Yes, the green tea bags contain 41mg caffine per serving. 1 serving = 1 bag
Not sure about the instant powder doesnt say on the container but i would assume so otherwise it would advertise caffine free

what is the point of drinking that much green tea???

Green tea has long been known to be a very powerful antioxidant. Recent studies also show that green tea can effectively raise your core body temperature, which in turn helps you burn more calories. This is especially helpful for people that are trying to lose fat. If you are going to get hooked on a drink, there are certainly much worse choices than green tea.

Yup, you can get caffiene free.

It's nice to drink something with some flavour other than boring old water...plus it's known to have at least some benefits, even if minimal.

Green Tea is very good in general for all the reasons listed above and more. Now in terms of geting caffeine free green tea there is no such thing. If some one claims to have caffeine free green tea its a lie. Yes there may be some with very little but caffeine is naturaly in green tea. Next green tea will help curb your appetite, not alot but a little. Green tea is very helpful in fat/weight reduction, it speeds up your thermogenesis"Incresses your bodys core temp as stated above". Next green tea contains chromium picolinate, this helps the body to metabolise carbohydrates. Still no mater how much green tea you drink a healty diet and exercise are very important. Drinking green tea alone will not make you lose weight. The only real benafit of drinking green tea with out a good diet and exercise is the antioxidant properties of it.

best green tea by far is Stash. Comes loose and looks like a qp of weed but its damn tasty. Look into that if you guys are serious about it. i started brewing the shit fresh, and really cant go back to bagged tea.
