Grip training question

How often should grip be worked in order to get it stronger. I'm working it twice a week. Mondays with deads and back work, and then thurs after legs I'm doing statics and shrugs.

If I work it more often, would it lead into overtraining?
 
I ditched my wraps for everything except shrugs a while ago. That was all the grip work i needed. Thier is a good article on elitefts.com about grip work.
