How bad is this?

This might be a problem many of us share. I have no problem eating healthy/training monday morning thru friday afternoon. From friday night to sunday my diet usually consists of scattered shitty meals and 10-30 alcohalic beverages.

My question goes out to those of you who had something similar to this and then STOPPED! What changes did you see (mental/physical) when you went to a consistent diet and lifestyle pattern?

I had 3 beers and a scotch saturday night, I felt guilty the next day... But I still think it was worth it.

I was a heavy drinker for a about 4 years straight then I quite. I went from 250lbs to 270lbs in three months. I can eat more, fall asleep easier, feel rested after a weekend of not drinking. I feel like new person these days. Like I did in high school. All I have to say is if you make the choice to stop you won't regret it. Yes its hard being the odd man out at a party or bar, but the next day when you are tearing up the gym or look in the mirror and love what you see, you'll love yourself for it. Changed best choice I've ever made, wish i would of figured it out long time ago, but now i'm happier than i've been since I first started college, now I'm graduating in Dec '06 after my last season of college ball, its nothing but up since I quit. Sorry for my rambling just wanted to let everyone know how great it feels to be sober and just be the real me again.

PS first couple months its a bitch to sleep so get some valarien root or melatonin. At least it was for me, just have to find things to fill the gaps the alcohol was filling I read tons of books now and work out more, and I'm attempting to take up art. Also the money I use to spend on booze now I can eat more and get better supplaments.

Nice post bro! Thats the response I was trying to solicit, I just had to hear it. I dont need to quit, I just need to not get so F'd up that I become a zombie for 2 days. Baby steps. Thx dude

For sure, even if you just cut back to just having a few it'll make a huge difference, that is what I did in the begining, then slowly got to where now I may have a beer every couple of weeks. Its fantastic, the results you'll get just because you can eat and recover on your off days is amazing.

.

...and after awhile, food becomes a fuel and you no longer eat for pleasure...Course, there is always the rare splurge at the buffet once in a blue moon.

Ya i here you on the eating part. It sure gets hard sometimes. Thats when I know its time to have a major cheat day or two. A couple weeks ago I ate a half gallon of ice cream because I was tired of eating healthy. Thank god for digestive enzymes or else i would of blown my self to the moon.

You can still eat healthy and eat for pleasure. Make a bunch of meals and then freeze them in plastic bags for easy access. A drink once in while is ok, but binges will give you somewhat of a setback. Bodybuilding requires a lot of dietary discipline unless you are some type of genetic anomaly.

i gave up drinking and you know what I am making great gains.

I am not genetically gifted so i just eat and train heavy

I had been eating and training like a madman and then I did my annual "guy's trip" to Las Vegas over the Superbowl. Six days of eating whatever I wanted, drinking whenever and whatever I wanted, smoking the cheeba, and a sleep schedule that was ass-backwards.

I actually lost 5 pounds during the 6 days and looked better than when I left! Needless to say, I hit the gym with a passion as soon as I got back and within a week, I was past my plateau and feeling better.

I've found that shocking your body from time to time can give it a nice kick-start when you get back to your routine. Just don't enjoy it too much ;)

good luck... im trying to pursue the same quest your about to go on. its going to be tough :(
