how long can you gain on test?

I did my first cycle, gained 25 pounds, off now and still have 20 pounds, I didn't stay on (no plan too) but if you keep eating, and stay on, can you keep gaining until you're off? cause the first 20 pounds came really quick (within 6 weeks) than it slowed down, or maybe I just didn't keep eating as much, but the first 20 was the easiest, if you get off and go on again, will you gain another 20 pounds next cycle as fast?
 
a lot of the time people will have their gains slow down around week 6 simply because of two reasons.
1) doing nothing new in the gym and becoming complacent in going hard
2) still eating as if their 20lbs lighter. meaning, if im 200lbs and eating 3500 calories, and week 6 i gained 20lbs id need more calories then 3500 to keep gaining.
now to answer your question, the first few weeks will always have serious gains because of bloating/glyogen retention/extra blood pumped to the muscle etc., so ideally yes, maybe not 20lbs tho lol
