i like singles for heavy weight.
do you feel like that is enough on most exercises or only on the core exercises like deads, bench and squats...

My usually heavy cycle routine will go for about 6 weeks and I use triples and 5's. I am not a competitive pl'er but I do enjoy lifting heavy. I will then go to 10's for a week or two and then add weight and drop reps by 2 a week for a month until I am back down in the 3-5 range for 6 more weeks.

it all depends on what im lifting and how i feel...my lifts range from the 3-20 rep range..it all depends on ones goals...

I usually work up to a heavy triple or five on deads. Try to up the weight every week. squatting depends on what i am doing, a heavy set of raw squats would be 5. I like singles in my suit, form breaks down too much. Same in my deadlift suit, i have found anything other than singles in my deadlift suit is a waste. Benching i do high rep stuff on raw days, but i will be doing more heavy singles from now on, nothing at failure but heavy none the less. i keep my reps in the 8-15 rep range on the majority of my accesory work. I am a competitive powerlifter, so this will vary towards your goals.

Not trying to hijack this thread, but when you do singles, you would do a warmup and then just a set of 1 rep? You would only do this excercise one time?

no youll need to warm up more..this is a general template i follow when doing max effort work
# 1x5 @ 50%
# 1x3 @ 60%
# 1x2 @ 70%
# 1x1 @ 80%
# 1x1 @ 90%
# 1x1 @ 95%
# 1x1 @ 100%
i would then drop back to around 90% of my previous set and do some singles..

if you dont know your max thats fine but dont overestimate rather error on te light side

It depends on goals. Many times when I'm working in the 5 rep range, with my 5 RMs, I will also do some 15-20 rep light work afterwards to get some metabolic work going.

i like to do a 18 week phase, first 6 weeks 10 reps..next 6 weeks 8...then last 6 weeks 6. Then it starts all over again.
