Just curious your guys opnions on how much tuna is safe to consume weekly considering the mercury in it. I currently eat two sandwiches in a sitting three times a week but also like to enjoy a pan seared ahi-tuna steak once a week. Ive heard reports that one can a week is safe and thats it if thats the case than my 6-8 can a week habbit is going overboard. What do you think?

I don't think tuna steak has mercury, I thought that was part of the packaging in canned tuna? I could just be stupid, which is probably the case either way...:)

im wondering the same thing i also thought just the cans had the mercury but i dunno

Most of the mercury is in the skin. So if you cook the fish yourself, then cooking without the skin and of course not eating the skin will be a huge help to reducing the mercury that you take in.
