How much water?

Hey guys, today I was thinking about how much water I drink on a regular basis while training. It usually comes out to about a gallon and a half to two gallons. My question here is.... how much water should a serious athlete be consuming on a daily basis? Is the intake amount different if an individual is cutting or bulking? Should your water intake change depending on the food you eat? What's the verdict?

Everybody is likely gonna tell you about a gallon/day. I have trouble drinking that much. I get about 3/4 gallon throughout the day. Just remember it's really a gallon of fluids technically. If it's milk, sprite, juice whatever. It's all figured into it.

well i mean if you feel like becoming dehydrated and missing every workout for like two weeks then go ahead but yea

Makes sense... I was hoping for some actual numbers regarding weight difference and what you are training for and all of that. But a simple answer works. I mean I drink that 1-2 gallon mark regardless of how hard I am training. I dont think I could drink more if my training difficulty increased. Thanks for the answers guys.

If you start to notice any water retention then cut it back a little bit but other than that its not hazardous.

I try and shoot for a gallon a day. I have a desk job and don't sweat through out the day, so that isn't too much of an issue for me. On the other hand, I can't drink much more than a gallon because if I do, I'm running to the bathroom too often and I'm not productive lol.

In my point of view when you feel thirsty you take 1 or 2 glass of water and repeat it time to time.
normally a person drink 12 glass of water in a day...

I try and shoot for a gallon a day. I have a desk job and sweat like a bitch through out the day due to excessive amounts of AAS including TREN, so that isn't too much of an issue for me. On the other hand, I can't drink much more than a gallon because if I do, I'm running to the bathroom too often and I'm not productive lol.

fixed

I can easily drink a gallon a day. Then again Im a mason tender/ whatever else they need me to do that day, and sweat my balls off all day. Sometimes I have to drink more plain and simple. Drink what YOUR body needs to be than well hydrated and stop. I've heard you actually can get sick from drinking to much water.

everyone is diff. but to me if you weigh 200lbs or more you should be drinking at least one and half gallons a day. Your body needs excessive fluids when trying to bulk because of nutrient transport in your blood

To much water will flush out your system of nutrients and make you feel lethargic. Just make sure to mix in gatorade. Above all listen to your body, If you are feeling down and drinking a lot of water cut back if you start having cramps and pulled muscles that is a sign you need to drink more.

5 litter water is necessary for every person in a day. Start your day with a glass of water and when you go to the bed take some water.

8 to 10 liter water is good for a healthy man. if you take less water then you suffer some problems.

you do realize thats about 4 gallons of water right?

I hope noones listens to this moron as drinking that much water is seriously dangerous for you.

guys remember that there is water in just about every food that you consume as well...

true.

Water intoxication is a very serious thing. its due to electrolyte imbalances in the body created by drinking excessive amounts of water. Google it and read.

For most people it would never happen, then again most people would never consume 8-10 litres of water in a day...
