Hello it has been a while since I was have posted. After I was on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for almost a year due to the effects of opiate pain medication causing my test levels to plummet. I decided to do a restart since I found what worked for me 5 years before. The difference between now and then is I was 42 then and now I am 46, I also was 6 ft 260 and I blew up to 280 (some muscle and a lot fat) Anyway I am dieting and training and have dropped 10 pounds last two months and I think when I get down to a good weight my testosterone should go up more since obesity contributes to this. I am going to give you my bloodwork from 5 years ago when I was very successful in restarting myself and I will give you my bloodwork today. I am going to list my PCT for my recovery. I was taking around 3/4 a cc a week and I had around 800 test levels but I felt like crap and my libido sucked and I took arimadex and Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) ( it did not work for me). I also have problems with red blood cells getting really high. The first time I did this restart 5 years ago I did it this way ( I was very fortunate to find what worked for me in 2007 in some post on another forum, THe

MY RESTART in 2007 (after being shutdown from Tren and test for 6 months and not using Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) during pct) I recovered for a long time using the PCT below

My PCT has been this

ONE WEEK BEFORE PCT Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) 500mg eod

PCT WEEK ONE: Nolva 20,HCG 500 ed, Arimadex .5 to 1ml a day

PCT WEEK TWO: same as week one

PCT WEEK THREE: same except dropped 1/2 ml arimadex and went to 1 ml letro for two weeks

PCT WEEK FOUR thru WEEK EIGHT: Nolva 20, Clomid 100mg ( weeks 4 and 5 ran letro and tappred) week 6 through 8 continued nolva alone

Here was my blood work results then using LABCORP and it was done two or three weeks after i stopped PCT ( I think 2 weeks)

FSH on a range frim 1.6 to 8.0 mine was 8.1
LH on a range from 1.5 to 9.3 mine was 11.9
My total test was 716
my free test or bioavailable test has not been calculated but
but my SHGB was 35 which would lower my available test.
my prolactin level was 4.8
and IGF -1 was183

When I got these results then I was one month off PCT and I had no libido and no energy, However 6 weeks from this time I was back in business and had energy and a new gf and libido was through the roof for a long time , Now lets forward to 2012 and I will tell you what happened and how I have possibly recovered ( I hope)

I have had many back surgeries and I have had to live with pain do to injuries etc, I was given high dose of pain meds and one day I stopped taking them and my test plummeted and my libido left town, I panicked and got on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) , ran it a few months and hated it , I tried another restart without following my protocol that had worked 5 years before for me ( I had forgot what I did) and I just got weak so I got back on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for another 6 months. I finally found the paperwork showing how I recovered and I did the same restart as before accept I gave myself 2000 Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) every other day shots. I am now almost 3 months past when I last had test ethanate in my system and I am one month and 2 days past post cycle therapy (pct). My strength is still very high, I am pushing 225 14 reps, and I am not tired I wake up with energy, the only thing that has not returned yet is my libido, though I am waking up with morning wood and libido seems to be getting a little better each day ( but a long ways from horny) my wife has been really understanding through this nightmare,

BELOW ARE THE RESULTS OF MY HPTA RESTART 2012

Here is my bloodwork today from two days ago from Questlabs ONE MONTH SINCE THE END OF PCT (not Labcorp like before in 2007) at 10:30 in the morning

Total Testosterone on scale of 241-827 , I tested at 514
FSH on scale of 1.6 to 8.0, I was 6.7
LH on scale 1.5 to 9.3, I tested at 5.3
Prolactin 2.0 to 18.0 ,I tested 4.3
Estadiol scale<15

The only thing bad was my hemoglobin was borderline high at 17.5 with normal being 13.2-17.1 ( I had to give blood when I stopped testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) so I am not sure why it may still be high accept that i have sleep apnea.

Anyway I am optimistic, I think when I drop down to 230 or less that I will probably see a increase in my test level from just not being overweight.

I hope some of you vets can read this and give me your feedback, I also have a question regarding the difference between a labcorp and quest ranges? Is 700 on a labcorp similar to 500 with questlab?

5 years ago one month after pct I had no energy or libido, one month later I was a new man.

Now I am one month out of PCT and libido is still very weak but my strength and energy are just as high as when I was on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) ( i may have lost a rep or two on the bench)

I am hoping in one month or so that I will be a new man again, and I am not sure how I got this pct, it was a mixture of stuff I read and advice I got from others, I do not know if it is that best, but I am 46 years old and it worked for me at 42 and I hope it works again now, If so I will be very careful what I put in my body so that I do not end up in this nightmare again

This is helpful - I am thinking about getting of HRT

I have been on HRT for just about a year and it has never worked for me, at all, so I am thinking very seriously about doing PCT and moving on. This is a good post, thank you.

How did everything turn out? I'm still shutdown after a tren cycle last summer. I have a doctors appointment in a few weeks

Glad to hear!

HPTA normalization is often overlooked and more often than not, it is successful. BUT it cannot be done by everybody, certain stipulations pertaining to your initial diagnosis are required to be fulfilled.

I've tried something like this. It will raise you test level. I also had high test right after it. But it won't last. And I felt bad like before on post cycle therapy (pct) and after. I think if you have problems with test levels for years, then you are just done, you just have to accept you need real HRT.

Right along the lines of what I was thinking..but didn't want to really say. No discouragement, but don't get your hopes up too high.

HRT never worked for me either, and after 18 months I have moved on

I stopped using Test over 3 weeks ago and I feel better now than I did while I was on TRT. I have dropped about 15 lbs of water weight, but no strength loss at all, and my energy is better now as well. I had zero libido on TRT and now that I am off, I feel it slowly coming back. It's not where I want it, but compared to zero, it feels a lot better than it has for 18 months.

Yes, but only time will tell if you're completely out of the woods

Me thinks you've been on the Internet too long. There's plenty of people that have successfully had restarts. Only online do you hear it never works. Then again, everyone online is rich, dates super models and has a foot long dick.

well now a days they have all this new shit out so who knows, anything is possible. Plus you know ppl arent happy with just 400ng/dl of test, they want 800ng/dl. So there like F- this man im not recovered im stayin on TRT.

HPTA restart can be very tricky with the use of HCG. I'm personally worried about the desensitization of the leydig cells from using too much hcg. OP is the reason why you ran nolvadex in conjunction with the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) in order to prevent desensitization of leydig cells? I was always under the impression that running Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) with nolvadex was counter productive.

This is a passage I found:

"Leydig cell desensitization does in fact occur to some degree with prolonged or high dose Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) usage. Using it continuously during a cycle could possibly cause the LH receptor to desensitize which in turn would ultimately render the post cycle therapy (pct) to be either less effective or possibly useless. This seems counterproductive. Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) will not be needed on cycles where the proper ancillaries are used and where the dosages/durations are realistic.

The previous summary was a general statement. The reality and good news is that Leydig cell desensitization due to Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) usage is blocked and/or minimized by Nolvadex. This occurs by suppressing HCG's ability to inhibit the conversion of 17 alpha hydroxyprogesterone to testosterone."

I really think its extremely individual. I tried for an entire year with both clomid and nolva and it did shoot my levels up but never lasted when I came off. I've been on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for a little over 2 years now and I feel its just the path of least resistance for me. Is there anything you gain having natty T vs synthetic (assuming insurance covers it) ? Test is test is test, and as far as I'm concerned I'll be on it for awhile.

This is old but do you know if you have sleep apnea or not. I feel a lot of people getting on TRT have undiagnosed sleep issues. The other ones usually have a shit diet.

A buddy of mine stays on because he had a pituitary tumor

Good point, I wake up every hour or so throughout the night on my stomach and switch sides every time I wake up. and my diet is hell bent, Im in real trouble then.

thanks. Ive learned these things the hard way. Good news is I have had two surgeries, deviated septum and uvula removal that allow me to breath way better. Long story short I am curing my sleep apnea and low t.

I had no idea I had it until I got married. I was prescribed sleeping pills and all kinds of shit for years. Was even diagnosed with PTST and blamed the violent awakenings on that.

I'm pretty sure that shit wrecked me. I'm on a CPAP now and fantasizing about a restart...
