I can't decide what type of split to do

Okay, so here's the deal. My goal is to put on as much muscle mass as possible before the summer. Actually, there's a slight chance I'll go to Brazil in just about a month from now, and my goal is to look as good as possible for the beach. I'm trying to figure out what kind of program that would work the best for me. On a daily basis, I'm going to consume about 3150 calories, 225 g of protein, 380 g of carbs and about 80 g of fat. Obviously, I don't wanna put on fat by working with too little volume or intensity, but neither do I want to end up feeling burnt out after a few weeks because I'm working too hard.

Oh, and I'm really weak and faaaaar from muscular at the moment. I'm about 5,9 and weighs about 167,2 lbs at the moment. I'm very lean. I did weigh 178,2 during august 2009, but then my weight started to drop as I started to eat like... What, 1000 calories a day? I don't know, but bascially I had a lot of other stuff to worry about at the moment. Right now, I'm a little pissed at myself for letting it go this far. I've lost way too much, but I've got lots of motivation right now. So it's time to stop screwing everything up, and do something that works! I've been working out for almost 3 years straight, yet I've put on no more then about 38 lbs al toghether - where most of it is what you could consider "noob gains", that I put on in the first 6 months. Why haven't I gotten better results? Because I've been eating way too little, and probably been using programs that didn't match my diet AT ALL.

First, I was thinking about doing a classic BB split. Working out 3 days a week. 9 sets on most muscle groups, 8-10 reps per set. Generally 3 exercises per muscle group. But then I started to doubt my decision... I have a feeling I won't get stronger at all, and I'm afraid I'll just be spinning my wheels.

However, I've never done a "proper" BB split before. I wonder what it would do to my body if I start eating well AND work out like a bodybuilder (which I sure am going to do this time. The diet is on order now, finally). In the past, I've been listening to all these "hardgainer experts" - however, I doubt most of these guys know shit, as I've come to realize literally none of these guys look the way I wanna look. Oh sure, they're not using drugs and that will of course result in a less muscular physique. But I get a feeling that so many of these "stay away from the curls. Just do deads. For God's sake, STAY AWAY FROM THE CURLS!" kind of types are just fat, out-of-shape wannabe-bodybuilders that look more like weak powerlifters - and most of them don't seem to be that strong either. Typically, they've got huge bellies, "big arms" (big in terms of size - but an arm can be big in two ways; either because of big muscles, or because of an excess amount of fat), no side dealts, no traps, no upper chest since they don't do any form of inclined presses, lacking quads since they never do leg extensions or sissy squats, small calves etc.

I would appreciate some advices on what kind of split I should do. Should i focus entirely on "working the muscle", not caring how much weight I'm lifting? Should I do more of a powerbuilding based around like Needsize 5x5, where I focus on both strength and size? Don't get me wrong - I sure as hell need strength, but I'm just a little unsure on what to focus on right now if my goal is to put on as much muscle mass as soon as possible at the moment. Since the strength from Needsize comes from building up gradually and slowly in the 5x5 exercises, and not because of the the "balls to the walls" iso work, I'm afraid it would take some weeks before I actually start to strain in the gym, and therefore don't really develop much in terms of muscle mass before I'm well into the program. Remember, my goal is - at the moment - just to put on as much muscle mass in a very short amount of time. I get the impressin that programs like Needsize 5x5 is more geard towards people who's got more time on their hands.

I hope I made myself clear. Thank you for your time!
