He goes over his caloric needs. There's no reason to exclude any food from your diet unless you don't enjoy eating it, it's an artificial transfat, have an allergy to it, or can't control or limit your portions.
Allergic reaction maybe? I'm not sure but that could be one reason to avoid it for you. I love ice cream like Cap said and eat it regularly. Few times a week at least. What I do is I drop carbs and fats for the day and make room for the ice cream in my calorie allotment. Simple and effective and I get to eat something I love.
