Is it important that test cyp doses be consistent?

My official doctor-recommended test cyp dose is 60 mg every 4 days.

But sometimes I do more and sometimes less. If I have a few weeks when I think I will be doing a lot of exercise/work-outs, I up my dose to 90 mg every 4 days to try to get more benefits from the exercise. Sometimes I travel with little or no opportunity for exercise. In that case I might drop my dose to drop my dose to 60 mg every 6 days thinking that taking any more would have no benefit.

Right before a blood test, I lower the dose and go for 6 or 7 days without an injection because my standard dose of 60 mg every 4 days puts my TT level at the tip of the range and my free Test level at almost twice the top of the range - which my doctor thinks is too high.

Frankly I always feel about the same regardless of the test cyp dose, whether the dose is high or low. I am getting good results: more strength, leaner, more stamina, better sex. I don't have any ups and downs, and I don't feel any different between being on a higher dose vs. being on a lower dose.

So my question is: Is there any reason not to vary the test cyp dose like I have been doing?

Background: I am 72 yo, weigh 150 lbs, and have been on TRT for a year and a half and loving it. I use a 29 gauge 1/2 inch needle injected into my front thigh - painless.

TRT is intended to keep your body healthy, not as a PED. It is important to keep it steady as your body will respond in kind by increasing your estradiol to maintain homeostasis. Estradiol is responsible for the vast majority of issues attributed to testosterone, including prostate issues. While I don't think you're varying your dose enough to frankly matter in the grand scheme of things, you should just keep it at the prescribed dose and injection frequency.

I give serious respect though; it's not often we see folks your age that still not only put the time into exercise, but actually trying to understand the many facets of testosterone replacement therapy.

My .02c :)

Well, yes. But I can't resist a little performance enhancement to top it off.

You're getting those benefits without creating ripples in the hormone pool. I promise you that there are very few folks your age with testosterone levels anywhere near yours. I would hate to see you mess that up by causing estradiol fluctuations. :)

Thanks. I appreciate the compliment. So many friends my age are just dropping out of active activities or are having serious health problems. It's sad to see.

OP - your not goona get any additional performance out of random increases in your test dose 40 mg a week on occasion.. Test doesn't work that way (placebo effect, mentally you may have felt better or stronger, but physically that little bump in test that week did nothing)..

Trt test is simply slowly getting your total test levels up to a certain level and maintaining them there. You've been on for awhile now so your test levels are there
