Is it time to get serious about starting TRT?

Whoa, you look fantastic. You sure do sound happy. You could be their spokesman. LOL

I may have missed it. How old are you now? How tall are you? My avatar is me, 51 in April, 5'9". I've been really lucky. I've always had a good metabolism and been athletic. I tend to eat too much junk still and manage to keep my abs. I'm going to have to start trying a bit harder. For years I only cheated on weekends. Always high protein in my diet and I don't drink at all so that helps a lot.

Our stats are so similar. I still bench 315 for 3 clean reps (when my shoulders feel good) and I weight 192 today. When I was first tapering off strength wise, I did my first ever "cycle" and did two more within 2 years. It got me back to where I wanted physically, but I've suspected low T for awhile. Bloodtests (when I was off cycle for awhile) for the last couple of years have been in the lower range of what they call normal. The last one freaked me out, so time to move on this.

I'm so looking forward to the intimacy going up. I've just had no desire for a long time.

So your starting dose: 200mg/week, .5mg adex, 500iu hcg 2x/week. What is your dose now and how long have you been on it.

Thanks again for communicating, it's awesome to hear results direct from people.

Kevin

Thanks! I'm 50 years old, 6'0", 192lbs.
Current dose is still 200mg/week, .75mg adex/week 500iu 2x/week, though sometimes I use less hcg and skip it while traveling.
I'm coming up on 1 year on TRT.

Why Test Free T3 and not Free T 4 as well ?
PM cortisol too ? w.t.f ?
I'd assume you are going in first thing in the morning for this bloodwork due to lipids being tested...
I hope he told you to be there for 8 AM... 9 AM at latest.
Why no Total T ?
Most endos or TRT clinics don't even go by Free T....
Could be low and they don't care about it.
They diagnose based off TT and Bio Avail. T
I would not write anything in except TT
as that in my opinion is real important.
I'd put the $55 bucks down and do the bloodwork for Bio Avail. T as well since you are going in to do this....
Get the total picture bro.

I better not write anything down. I asked about free essay and the CRP and the emailed response was "just get the tests as given". LOL He doesn't even have TT total testosterone on his blanket form. Very strange. Maybe I will just write that one in.

Can I personally request a test from Canadian Labs and just pay for it? Are you in Canada Apollon?

He did not specify morning but I know it, and he did not even tell me to fast. I have a feeling I just blew $100.00 on a consult with a guy that gives the same HRT to every dude willing to go in.

Time will tell I guess. I have a Total T from awhile ago which may have to do I guess.

THanks again,

KC

Thanks again, we'll see what my protocol becomes. From what I read, I am hoping to get on injections.

You forgot so quick where I live ? lol. I gavae you detailed advice last time, you should have clued in. LOL....kidding
TT from a while ago won't cut it I'm afraid. Docs (that care) usually follow your T levels for some time to see what the fluctuations are....the longer u give them this pic the better it will be for you.
Even if they refuse to treat you...if you have low T on paper you can sue these guys for not giving you medical attention. GET PHOTOCOPIES EACH TIME.
So many ways to do it bro.
Just remember what I told you bout those labs...
go to a SPECIFIC ONE and get it done as they write the TIME on top.
If this guy wont play ball with you, I'd just go into a walk in clinic and ask for a req. for B.A. Test... make sure Lh, FSH is included...

Sorry about that. You're the reason I am going to Gamma Dynacare. LOL. I was told recently the Lifelabs bought up CML and Gamma recently. Not sure how fast the changes will be. (If it is true)

Thinking about it I'll write in TT as I don't think he even keeps a copy of what he gave me. He may not even go over it all but as long as I get a copy and keep the information.
I'd hate to piss him off, but what would the doctor write on a requisition for Bio Available?

THanks again,

KC

That's bad news if Life Labs bought those other 2 labs out.
Gamma has a Bio A T range close to double what Life Labs has!!!
CML has a high Bio A T range as well.
All labs have been lowering their ranges for T over the last 7 years....
Life Labs and CML have the most. Gamma took down their TT range from the high end of 38 nmol/l and lowered it to 31.4 nmol/l....

The requisition would say: "Bio Available Testosterone"....
that and $55 bucks upon testing. Get that test done at 8 am no later!!!
the brackets for that Test are 6 AM-10 AM....
Pretty sure he will notice that....don't do it with him.
Just get a separate req from a walk in clinic for that one. IT will not arrive the same time as the other tests...
The Bio Avail. T test will arrive 1 week later to him separately....
that's how he will find out.

Life Labs has a range of 8.4- 28.8 nmol/l for TT and their Bio Avail. T range is 3.6-11.2 nmol/l.
Keep this in mind.

You might be out of luck for TRT is u score mid range in Bio Avail. T. I was at 7.2 nmol/l on one test and had TT at 9 nmol/l
and LOW Free T at 25 pmol/l.
mind u I was on low dose ADEX as well....
Just do the tests he has marked for you. IF you were 15 pmol/l Free T before...
that's WAY below the 31 pmol/l needed for Free T range to be hypogonadal.
I'm sure you wont jump to double that in a short period of time.
