If you have access to antibiotics then it's great to have them on hand. I have hundreds of 500 mg amoxicillin. My woman gets them from her work. I always tell her to keep getting them. They stay good for years. They will work if you get an abscess.
Never ever take Cipro if you're gonna be working out it can cause a form of necrosis in the tendons. It can cause tendinitis or tendon rupture. There's also a couple other antibiotics that cause the same problem. Amoxicillin does not cause this. I got an infection in my quad last year, I don't know how. I showered and took all the necessary precautions. I cleaned the bottle top with alcohol cleaned the injection spot with alcohol the same way I have for years. Then I pinned and the next day I was at work and my leg hurt real bad and when I got home to shower, the front of leg from just above my knee to the top just below the hip from the inside half way to the outside was bright red starting to swell and super hot. My wife immediately said I was gonna have to start antibiotics immediately. Within a few days it got better. If I hadn't had antibiotics I would've had to try to explain it to my doctor and that's no Bueno. The first and only time in 20 years I ever had that happen and it was definitely kind of nerve racking.
