Looking to learn from you guys

Hi everyone! Been lifting for a while now but have never used any gear. When I was a teenager I was obese, but then at 16 I started lifting and not eating like a hippo. Went from 307lbs to 230 at 5'9 and maintained that for 8 1/2 years now. I was always more into the powerlifting aspect of weight training, but now that I'm almost 25 I'm starting to feel the side effects on my shoulders of constantly benching 315+. So back in November of 2013 I started cleaning up my diet and set a goal to eventually compete on a stage. I've gone from 230lbs with a bf readout of 21% to 215 at 18.3%. I've been using a handheld monitor to calculate bf% so I know theres a margin of error, but I figure 3% lost is good progress no matter what the measuring tool is.

I joined this forum to help dial in my diet and learn before making the decision to eventually use gear or not. I want to crush my goals like a solo cup at a frat party, and I figure a little knowledge from you all would be a great tool to have at my disposal. I look forward to talking to you all and learning as much as possible.
