Low T, anxious about testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) with nebido

Man I have been searching for years! I mean all the people tell me you gotta keep looking but what if there simply are no good doctors? I mean what does good doctor even mean? A doc who uses Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) and arimidex in Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)? Such a doctor does not exist here in Germany. In Germany it's either gel, testoviron 250mg every 2-3 weeks or nebido.
I mean I could even live with having to go to the doc every 2-3 weeks for an injection. But what about other issues? What if my E2 goes too high and I get bitch tits and then nobody can help me cause they probably won't hand out an AI?
And another really huge issue is my damn seborrheic eczema. I read that testosterone/androgens can make it worse cause they increase the oil production and this eczema is caused by bacteria which feed on oil. The eczema is really totally depressing. On days where it flares up I'm depressed the entire day! And if testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) would make it worse then I couldnt do it at all. :(

Maybe you should hop over to the AAS section of this website and learn how to take testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) into your own hands. But you will have to do a signifcant amount of research if you are going to self medicate.

I wouldn't worry about excema. I have it and mine is much better since starting testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). Just keep your estradiol under control which can make your skin oiler. It isn't the test directly.

You will have to learn how to self inject though and figure out how to get your own bloodwork done. And donate blood regularly. All the things -- and more -- that you have been saying you are ill prepared to handle. Are you doing any sort of cognitive therapy to lessen your anxieties?

Hi, do you have eczema or seborrheic eczema? There is a big difference!

I don't think I can take testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) in my own hands. This would also mean having to buy testosterone illegally cause when I get it from the doc then he wants to do the injections.

I have a low opinion of psychologists. I tried a few and they all sucked. I'm done with this crap.

Just plain old eczema -- mild. It comes sometimes in the winter.

Yes, I understand the implications of self-medicating. But you seem to have indicated to us that the medical community where you live will not treat you properly/effectively. That seems to point towards you having to take matters into your own hands unfortunately.

If you are not using a psychologist for help are you treating yourself via cognitive therapy? Are you doing anything to desensitize your anxieties? Ignoring it will only make it worse over time. Testosterone will become the least of your problems if you don't deal with your anxiety issues.

Hello,
my experiences with psychologists are very negative. I think that even if there are a few which are ok then they are rare. How shall I find them? I cannot simply try different ones and then find out that they all suck. Last time I went to a psychologist I was so offended and angry cause he was such a jerk and I was basically the one who suffered even after weeks I was still angry when I thought about it. I'm scared of being offended again. I dont want to go to someone who just sits there and basically doesnt give a crap and only listens to you cause you pay him.

And how's a psychologist supposed to help me? The "advice" I got were such a joke. For example I have been depressed for years cause of diseases which I have which have been dragging me down ever since. I told a psychologist about it. All he could say about it was that I should accept what I cannot change. That was it! Can you imagine this? One damn sentence and my whole disease problem is supposed to be solved!? If getting over it was that simple I would have done it in all those years!!!
I cant simply get over it. This stuff makes me really angry. This advice is so ridiculous. I really felt like none of the psychologists I went to actually had empathy and wanted to understand my issues and actually listen to me. They all simply wanted to drop their crappy advice on me and not really listen. But listening is very important. At least you have to listen to the person who's hurting. Even now where I write this I'm already becoming angry again. :(

There are good psychologists out there and they can help you with what is called cognitive therapy. Look into it.

As with most things, the best way to find a good psychologist is by getting recommendations from people you trust.

You have to ask yourself, how is what I am doing now working for me? From what you have shared it really doesn't seem to be working well. I guess you can choose to remain mad at yourself and mad at the world. Or you can choose to change.

As Einstein is credited with saying, "Repeating the same process and expecting a different outcome is the definition of insanity."

I'm not trying to be an asshole. I'm just trying to state what seems to be apparent.

(replying to OP's original post)

I was in exactly the same boat in the UK. Gels at first which sent my E2 through the roof and had my moods all over the place, and then only offered nebido with no option of HCG or AI.

I just took matters into my own hands and sourced everything off the internet. I'm now on my own regimen of 250mg test cyp split into 2 weekly shots, HCG and Aromatase inhibitor (AI), and I've never felt better. I get my blood tested at a private clinic periodically to make sure everything is in range.

There's more than enough info out there, and more than enough helpful friendly people on here to guide you through the process if you decide you want to give it a shot. Good luck.

Why didn't you want to use Nebido? I have a shot every 7 weeks and feel good... However, in the future I might trial something else so I can compare it to, but not keen to have it weekly.

I spent a lot of time doing research when I first learned I was suffering from secondary hypogonadism, and the general consensus I found was that people did not think highly of nebido.

I felt awful, and didn't want it to continue for potentially months. If the initial dose of nebido was insufficient, that meant another 2 months of feeling like shit before they would adjust it, and then waiting another 2 months after that to see if it was then correct. I'd also lost a lot of faith in my urologist after he sent me out of his office with just a box of gels and no Aromatase inhibitor (AI), and I'd subsequently developed puffy nipples and emotional mood swings.

Everything I read led me to believe that the "optimal" treatment method for testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is test cyp or test eth 2 x weekly to create very stable T levels, with the ability to adjust dosage quickly if required.

That's not to say that many men don't of course feel great on the other options, such as nebido - but I wanted full control of my own treatment, with the best possible option of success. It is my health after all, and I don't feel comfortable leaving it in the hands of someone else who had proven himself to be unreliable.

That's great Hoodlum, and I'm happy that you have found a protocol that works for you...
But how can you be sure that the Test you sourced off the internet isn't under dosed or bunk...
I've just been prescribed Nebido here in the UK due to Sustanon 250 seemingly being phased out...
I've read some forums (UK based) where people have had fantastic success - I've also read about a lot of bad experiences too... I guess I'm just going to have to give this a shot and see how it works for me...
Don't get me wrong, I have been tempted to try and source elsewhere - but I didn't see this as a lifelong solution to my problems...
Good luck anyway, I'd sure like an update on how you are progressing...
