I was recently diagnoised with a sprained back. I also have slight curviture to the spine. Are there any weight training I can do to strenghten by lower back?

deadlifts--start light, be careful use good form
Absolutly, deadlifts practicaly cured my back problems years ago,and like Huskyguy said, use good form and start light, don't pull any big weight untill you are comfy in your form.

Are you seeing a chiro for your curviture to the spine? Are you doing anything to get that corrected?

make sure after deads and squats that you do some heavy ab work. reverse hyper is very good for lower posterior work.

I had a sciatic nerve pinch and I took 2 weeks off from lifting. Now its better just gets really saore after squatting or deadlifting or cleaning but m guessing it will go away after some time. Be careful not to overdo anything because you could cause even more damage to yourself.

Thank you all for the advice. I haven't seen a doctor about my spine but I am going to get an xray of it. My abs are very weak and I know I need to work on those.

i have the same problems, whenever i do squatz or deadlift the next day i can barely use my lower back...and thank you for all the good advise guys..
