is it a good i dea to take metformin say 500 mgs before a work out for a pump or will it reducae the effects of the carbs for my workout
i eat a large amount of pasta about
75 grams of carbs by whole wheat pasta
30 grams of protien with beef and chicken
one hour after that i pop 500 mgs of metformin then consume a 25 gram protein shake with 50 grams of complex carbs shake 30-45 minutes before my workout.
i ask because i herd you get a good pump from metformin but i also know that you don't store carbs im a lil confused if this is a good idea or not help me out.

Im not sure using a GDA preworkout is such a great idea. Have you ever taken metformin? It can play havoc with your digestive system big time. What are you trying to accomplish by using it?

Metformin makes you more sensitive to insulin. While it can't make you hypoglycemic, it's a waste to try to use it as a pre-workout. It has about a 12 hour half-life, so it really doesn't matter when you take it, as long as you're eating within that time frame.

Honestly, I don't see any benefit unless you're on a massive caloric surplus, and need help shuttling nutrients into cells. Even then, as JimiThing mentioned - it can really mess with your digestive tract until your body adjusts.

My .02c :)

Edit: If you're looking for a pump, try NO agonists like arginine, or a PDE5 inhibitor like cialis pre-workout.

i take it for the added benefit of insulin and i get 466 g of carbs (complex) a day and don't want to store fat. but with my schedual i take a pill half hour before i work out

my digestive is ok i just go 5 times a day but i eat alot. i take no product i was goin to order cialis liquid soon for that pump effect but i heard anything that is with insulin will help gain size and metformin stops you from storing fat. i happen to take it before a workout but i don't know if it is counter productive
