This is what I have been eating for the past 3 months. With very little results.

Age:25
height: 5'9
Weight: 148
BF: 17%
BMR: 1694.34

Diet:
Morning: 1/2 cup egg beaters, with 1 slice of wheat wrap
postworkout: 1 scoop of protein (30g)
lunch: 1 slice of grilled chicken breast, 1/2 cup of mixed veggies. 1 cup of brown rice.

snack 1: 1 protein bar (20g) 1 apple

snack 2: 1 string cheese, 1 scoop of protein (30g)

dinner same as lunch:

Iam a thin guy with a gut. I want to lose some fat, get toned and have abs.

Iam going to start p90x, since I gave the gym a try with not much success.

What do you guys think?

You are not eating enough, plain and simple.
Eat more...if you dont gain weight....eat even more...if no gain....eat even more.
This is VERY simple guys. You MUST eat enough that you force your body to gain weight.
Of course you must be lifting HARD and training properly at the same time.

your bmr doesnt determine how much you should be eating , its your tdee

That^^^

Plus you gave us BMR almost arbitrarily because you didn't give us your daily caloric intake or macros.

What are you doing for cardio and/or resistance training?

If it were me I would cut down the brown rice - I weigh 185 lbs at 5'10" (~7% bf) and I'm currently bulking and I eat 1 cup brown rice at a few of my meals (and my TDEE is quite high) along with a lean meat, if I were cutting I'd definitely cut this down.

But anyways, we need a little more info to properly help. Be as specific as possible - its a numbers game man, you HAVE to know exactly what you're taking in versus what you're burning to achieve your goal.

Cheers man!

Sorry - just noticed you said p90x - how often? Also, what kind of protein powder and protein bar? This definitely matters too.
