I thought that a cloudy look was normal for a test suspension even in oil.

However...I could be wrong.

My suggestion is to reheat it.
What was the powder, just test or did it have an ester attached?

I think its time to try a new batch
Give them cakes to your buddies for a price, build a new batch and see how it goes.
