I have recently been reading different posts and magazines and have decided to alter my diet drastically. I am posting that new diet here for you physical and mental giants to approve or critique it any way you see fit.

Morning 8am - 4 egg beaters mixed with "all the whey" protein shake. Then cup of oatmeal or oatmeal bar.

11am - 2 and 1\2 scoops of "HDT pro blend solid gains weight gainer protein" 30g protein, 347 calories, 50g carbs. Add in an apple or peach for added carbs.

2pm - 2 lean chicken breasts (costco bought) add peas or broccoli etc. another "all the whey" protein shake after that

5pm - Another HDT weight gainer shake with another apple or peach or anything high in carbs

8pm - Salmon and brocolli with an italian salad (1\2 price at my restaurant :D) . Add another "all the whey" shake after that.

11pm - just 1 scoop of the HDT shake before i hit the sack with extra carb item

And that concludes my day, please offer advice if you have any.

Im trying to put on serious muscle and weight. Overall gain in size throughout my body. I just need to tweak my diet because my supplements and workout routine is optimal

Get rid of the egg beaters. Eat whole eggs.

11am - 2 and 1\2 scoops of "HDT pro blend solid gains weight gainer protein" 30g protein, 347 calories, 50g carbs. Add in an apple or peach for added carbs.

Get rid of the protein shake. Stick to solid food for this meal. For carbs, have whole wheat bread, sweet potato, whole wheat pasta, brown rice, etc. Not fruit.

2pm - 2 lean chicken breasts (costco bought) add peas or broccoli etc. another "all the whey" protein shake after that

You don't need so many protein shakes. Have another chicken breast and get rid of it.

5pm - Another HDT weight gainer shake with another apple or peach or anything high in carbs

Get rid of the protein shake and stick with solid foods once again. Apples and peaches are not high in carbs. Refer to my list of good stufff above.

8pm - Salmon and brocolli with an italian salad (1\2 price at my restaurant :D) . Add another "all the whey" shake after that.

Get rid of the shake.

11pm - just 1 scoop of the HDT shake before i hit the sack with extra carb item

Get rid of the shake. Have a tub of cottage cheese and some flax oil. Or natural peanut butter, or olive oil. No carbs this late.

And that concludes my day, please offer advice if you have any.

Your diet is based way too much upon protein shakes. You need to get protein from different sources other than a shake. The only 2 times it should be used is in the morning, and post workout.

I agree with jynx.

One other thing I might add is not to go too low fat. Low fat is ok if you're on gear or DNP, but if you're on neither of those then I don't see the reason for low fat. Make sure to get some non-lean sources of meat in there, like steaks.

Thanks jynx for the input. Couple questions, why should i have to get rid of egg beaters? Ive heard tons of people say they prefer whites over eggs w/ yolks anyday. I sure dont need to cholesterol. Also, those HDT shakes are weight gainer shakes so why should i get rid of them?
I will try your other suggestions, thanks

If someone prefers egg whites over the whole egg, then they don't know what they're talking about. The egg yolk is full of important nutrients. Eating the cholesterol is fine.

The reason to get rid of the "weight gainer" shakes is because real food is more anabolic. Also, I don't know about that particular weight gainer, but they are often filled with TONS of maltodextrin. Maltodextrin is classified as a complex carb, but it's glycemic index is much higher than that of pure glucose. In short, it's a good way to screw up your insulin sensitivity, make you unhealthy, etc. Also, if you can't eat enough food to gain the weight you want, good luck keeping it unless you're always drinking weight gainers. This is a bad thing to do, so you should just eat real food.

Then I guess I don't know what I'm talking about.........

Also, that statement about cholesterol is a very general one, what about guys with an already bad lipid profile ??....or even what are your thoughts on eating >12 egg yolks/day ??

Seen that before amd there are many physicians that will agrue that to death.

The important thing is that the "proof" the medical community uses is selectively chosen data that is chosen to fit the answer they want - i.e. that saturated fat and cholesterol are bad. It's pretty obvious when they totally omit other cultures where this model obviously doesn't fit.

It's also interesting that people will say things like "oh, the Japanese eat miso and the Japanese live long and have low heart disease, so I'll eat miso and I will live long." Yet you never hear something like "The Inuit ate tons of meat and fat and they were very strong, healthy, and robust people with very little dental caries, so I'll eat tons of meat and fat and be healthy like them."

Why don't you hear things like that?

People have eaten high fat and cholesterol foods for their entire evolution. If it were so deadly, then we wouldn't exist. Well, if we did exist, we wouldn't be as smart.

It's also interesting to note that the healthiest foods you can eat are either high in fat and/or high in cholesterol. Examples: Liver, egg yolks, oysters, clams, mussels, high vitamin butter, raw milk and fermented milk products.
