I am new here, and trying to get as much information on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) as I can. I started testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) six weeks ago now, took my third shot last week, and like the way I am feeling and looking as it takes hold. One of the questions I have is do men who take Testosterone on a regular basis need to address the conversion to estrogen. I take 1 ml of 200 mg testosterone CYP every two weeks now. I suspect it will be increased when last weeks labs get back due to the slump I feel at the end of two weeks. I started with T levels at 260, and was on the androgel when that was taken. I want to level off at 800 which is the point where the metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance seems to reverse if it is going to, which I read occurs in 80% of the cases. I have noticed a loss in weight, (11 pounds in the six weeks) which for a person my age (62) is always nice. I have started to develop the chest I had when younger, and my arms are not at 15 inches which is a significant increase from a few weeks ago.
To date I have notices a change in moods, a better sleep cycle, more energy, better sex, weight loss, and a desire to get off my ass and workout again. At the end of the two week cycle the desire to go running or biking is a forces effort even though I like both. I am additionally recovering from an accident which required surgery and almost a year of recover. I have had to start slow on shoulder workouts because of the surgery, and just this week only reached the 180 pound level which sounds low, but having started at 5 pounds in January I think I am doing just great.
For the others on CYP, have you remained on it non stop. I understand I won’t need to come off it unless I come down with prostate cancer at some later date. Some of the studies point out lower levels of prostate cancer in T users, which I understand relates to having sex more often so that may be a point I won’t have to visit. Will the weight still keep coming off, and will the muscle mass I am building continue to grow. I hope so.
I am eager for any information on this new phase in my life.
I see most people are adding stats so here are mine.
